Archibald ThorburnFZS (31 May 1860, Lasswade, Midlothian – 9 October 1935, Hascombe, Surrey) ^[1] was a Scottish creator who specialised in wildlife, portrait mostly in watercolour. He explored Scotland to sketch birds serve the wild, his favourite allpurpose being the Forest of Gaick near Kingussie in Invernesshire.

Life and work

Archibald was basic at Viewfield House, Lasswade, Midlothian, the fifth son of Parliamentarian Thorburn (1818–1885), portrait miniaturist concerning Queen Victoria.
